How to make your brand more personal

Heads up for business owners: the old fashioned sales to customer pipeline just doesn’t work like it used to.

With social media embedded into our way of life, consumers (that’s all of us reading this!) expect deeper relationships with their favorite brands. We’ve grown tired of ads, and we’re craving human connection!

People want to connect with people, not companies.

This means that businesses of all sizes must take more of a personal approach to their marketing in order to build the authentic relationships that their customers now expect.

The good news is that these authentic relationships are *insanely* valuable for your business! Someone who feels connected to you as a person will always root for you — but a faceless brand? Not so much.

So if you’re a business owner, you may want to consider putting your face at the front & center of your brand, and aim to be as authentic as possible to build better relationships with your audience.

Here are some of our suggestions on how to do just that!

🙋🏻‍♀️ Show your face

Allow people to build a connection with who you are as a person by showing your face as much as you’re comfortable. Bonus points if you include your voice (literally)!

💞 Share your values

What drives you? Sharing your values with others gives people an opportunity to connect with you on a deeper level.

💡 Express your POV

No one sees the world quite like you do, based on your identity, experience, and expertise. Share your unique POV, loud & proud.

👀 Show behind the scenes

Inviting people into your (often messy) BTS process helps them feel like they're an active participant with you & your work.

💬 Proactively create conversations

Relationships don't just happen… you have to invite them. Reach out to people to get the conversation started.

🤝 Write like you speak

Don't be a robot! Whether you're writing for one person (a DM) or many (this newsletter!), communicate the same way: like you're chatting with ONE person.
