I didn’t start a business to play by the same old rules.

After getting laid off, I realized the last thing I wanted was to return to the 9–5 grind—chained to a desk, dreaming of my 15 annual days of “freedom,” just to line some dude’s pockets. 🤢

But the crypto-hoarding, empire building, get-rich-quick version of entrepreneurship doesn’t do it for me, either… So I’m writing a new formula.

I’m building a business because I want something deeper: a career that reflects who I am, supports my values, and creates the life *I* want to live. And I’m here to help you do the same! 🤝

Yes, I like making cool websites. But what I REALLY love is watching my clients light up with confidence and excitement when their vision finally comes to life. When they realize what they’ve set out to create is actually real. When they trust that they CAN put themselves out there and the right people will find them.

I didn't plan to become an entrepreneur...

You know, the type of person yapping about biohacking, funnel building, and productivity stacking. 🥱
So… how did I get here?
I grew up during the very early days of the wild-west internet...

When trading A/S/L with chatroom randos was the norm and uninhibited creativity felt totally within reach.
As a young teen in a tiny New England town, I'd run home from school to log in to my digital universe, where I taught myself HTML and Photoshop so I could make websites for fun and connect with other teen girls like me.
After college, I spent most of my career in digital marketing, working with mission-driven orgs in Boston.

(Think sharp lawyers, smart doctors, and scholarly researchers.)
I learned how to communicate with clarity, empathy, and purpose to a lot of different types of people.
I realized what resonates best with everyone is the same thing: authenticity.
Because I can never do just one thing at once, I’ve also been a yoga teacher...
music journalist...
techno party promoter...
and substitute art teacher!

All of these roles fed my love of connecting with people and helping others express who they are.
Then, I got laid off. My career was upended, and my relationship to work fundamentally altered.

I realized in my 10+ year career, I’d prioritized my job over myself. Every “professional development” line on my resume was based around what would give me a gold star with corporate.
I never even considered what I wanted.
I knew if I wanted to find out who I was outside of my career, I needed to explore my creativity with zero agenda. So I bought a camera just for fun, took some online classes, and started picking up some freelance work.
In that space, Cultivation Studio was born.

I couldn’t imagine myself returning to a “normal” job, so I decided to build a business in search of deeper connection—to myself, my purpose, and my people.
I wanted to work with people who I connected with, and people doing work that matters—because it’s that connection that makes it all worth it.
Cultivation Studio has always been a reflection of me. From my brand's design to my messaging and the services I offer, I want you to sense whether we vibe or not just by engaging with my brand.
5 years of entrepreneurship and a cross-country move later, here I am!

Living in LA, building a business based on how I want my life to look—and not the other way around.
I may not have expected the entrepreneurial path, but looking back, it all makes sense. Cultivation Studio wouldn’t exist without the uncertainty that forced me to look at my life from a different angle, and really examine whether I was truly living on my own terms.
I’m so glad forging my own path has led me here, where I get to help other entrepreneurs find the courage to do the same.
