I’ve been designing & developing websites since I was a preteen on dial-up Internet. It all started around the year 2000 when I taught myself HTML & CSS so I could make a website where users could adopt digital penguins… yep, embarrassing, but that tells you how long I’ve been at it!
Today, I’ve continued to grow my coding knowledge so I can design and develop custom websites for client. And as much as I love design, I’ve learned I enjoy the development phase most — it’s magical to watch my code transform a page before my eyes!
I’ve been a loyal Squarespace user for 10 years. I love it because Squarespace makes it easy for clients with little web experience to maintain, and as a developer I can upgrade the platform to create entirely unique websites.
As a designer & developer, I have both the design eye and technical skill to bring your creative visions to life and awe your clients!

Either you will give me access to your Squarespace site, or I’ll create a new one for you (depending on your needs). Then, I’ll go in and edit the Squarespace site as needed, including adding custom code. Once it’s complete you’ll have a chance to review.
We can work out the rest of the details together!

It’s really up to you and what you need! Ultimately the earlier the better, but we can work with you at any stage.
We’re more than happy to take your designed mockups and bring them to life in Squarespace. BUT — if you involve us early on in the design process, we can provide ideas & input on what might be possible that can unlock deeper levels of creativity.

That’s completely up to you and what works best with your process.
In most of our previous development projects, the designer has taken the lead at managing client communications. But, we’re also happy to speak with the client directly about what’s possible in development or how to update their new website, if that’s easier. We manage our own client-facing design & dev projects, too, so we’re well-versed in client communication.
Sometimes it’s helpful for us to record training videos for you and/or the client. We’re more than happy to do this if desired.

We will provide all of the necessary instructions & materials for both you and the client to feel confident managing the new website.
We pride ourselves on coding efficiently, so that there is as little extra work required to maintain your website as possible compared to Squarespace’s out-of-the-box templates.

No, but it can be helpful!
We code our custom websites in such a way that you should not need to know any code in order to make edits or add new pages.
With that said, it can be helpful for you to understand code on a basic level so we can show you how we developed it — this can make it easier for you to communicate with the client. But it’s not a requirement.
If you don’t know how to code, don’t stress. We’re always available for support if any questions or edits come up in the future.

This depends on the level of development support you need for us.
We pride ourselves on being very efficient. Even the most complicated Squarespace projects shouldn’t take us more than a week or two to complete.

It’s hard to give a clear answer to this question without knowing what your project involves — there’s such a wide range of support we can offer!
We are open to working on either a flate project rate or hourly basis, depending on what makes the most sense for the project.
And regardless of the project size, we work efficiently & effectively.

We develop all new websites exclusively in Squarespace 7.1, the latest version of Squarespace that uses their new fluid engine editor.
If you are working in Squarespace 7.0 we very highly recommend that you migrate to 7.1 (we can help with this!) for many reasons including: it is the most efficient platform for us to develop; it will be the easiest for your client to edit & add new pages while maintaining our custom design; and Squarespace is constantly adding new features to 7.1, while 7.0 will soon become unsupported and obsolete.

Do you, boo! But, currently we only offer custom development in Squarespace.
There are lots of website platforms out there, each with their own unique benefits. But we’d love to make the case for you to switch to Squarespace! We’ve transferred many of our clients from other platforms (like Wix and GoDaddy) to Squarespace, and they love it.
First, it’s designed for folks with to no little web experience, so we’re confident you and your clients will feel comfortable managing it on their own once we hand it off.
Second, it’s chock full of added features, and they’re always creating more. Within Squarespace you can start a blog, sell products, schedule appointments, launch courses, send marketing emails, and more.
And lastly, we have over 10 years of experience on Squarespace, so we’re pretty invested! We know how to customize their website templates to create a stand-out web experience.

It’s rare — because custom coding makes so many things possible on Squarespace — but sometimes it does happen.
