6 signs your website doesn’t support your biz

Businesses evolve and change over time, and it's important that your website also changes to reflect these shifts and to continue bringing in new business.

Incremental website updates only get you so far until it's time for a total refresh. But how do you know when it's time?

You know you need a website refresh if…

You're embarrassed to share it.

Do you hesitate to promote your website because you're embarrassed? Yikes… something's off! You want to be proud to share your site far and wide.

The aesthetics feel outdated.

Your website's aesthetics and functionality play a crucial role in captivating your target audience. If the design feels outdated, is not responsive to different devices, or fails to reflect your evolving brand identity, it's probably time for a refresh.

It doesn't reflect your current brand, services, or target audience.

It's normal for businesses to evolve over time — but if your existing website doesn't accurately reflect the current state of your business and its offerings, it's time for an update! And if your target customer or client shifted, you'll need to update your branding & messaging to ensure it speaks to the right people.

It's not driving new business.

Your website should be a reliable source of new business leads (with the support of your digital marketing strategy!), but if you're not getting any new purchases, sign ups, or inquiries, it's time to evaluate whether your website effectively speaks to your target audience.

Your bounce rate is high and page views are low.

Take a peek under the hood and evaluate your website's metrics. If visitors are bouncing off the home page without clicking around, you'll want to reconsider what you can change about the structure, copy, or design to keep visitors engaged in the right way.

You have trouble updating it.

You should be able to easily update and add new content. If this is difficult, you might consider switching to a more user-friendly website platform.
